Duties:

1. Inventorying all documents and records at the government entity and classifying them according to their type, importance, and administrative, legal, or historical value.
2 . Determining the retention period of documents in various departments in accordance with the regulations of the National Center for Documents and Archives.
3. Assessing the scientific and historical value of documents to determine which ones merit permanent preservation and which may be destroyed after the retention period expires.
4 . Reviewing retention period schedules and verifying their compliance with approved regulations, bylaws, and standards.
5. Proposing amendments to retention periods for certain documents when necessary and submitting recommendations to the relevant authorities for approval.
6 . Preparing document appraisal reports and documenting the results of sorting, classification, retention, and destruction.
7 . Transferring documents of permanent value to the National Center for Documents and Archives for permanent preservation.
8. Applying the document appraisal regulations and adhering to all instructions of the National Center regarding retention and destruction.
9 . Following up on the implementation of appraisal duties by internal departments, ensuring the application of approved retention periods, and verifying that no document is destroyed before its due date.
10 . Ensuring the confidentiality of documents during sorting, appraisal, or transfer to the National Center.
11 . Overseeing archiving operations paper or electronic and ensuring the integrity of documents during retention.
12 . Providing the National Center with any reports or data it requests related to documents subject to appraisal.
